Audio software company KROTOS secures Seed Investment led by Metavallon VC

Metavallon VC announced today its Seed investment into Krotos, the producer of the software that empowers content creators to design sound faster by turning the existing slow process into a real time performance. The investment round is led by Metavallon VC and is complemented by Old College Capital as well as strategic angel investors.

Founded in 2013 by Orfeas Boteas, Krotos, an Edinburgh based company, develops software tools that allow audio professionals to perform and customize sound easily, saving hours of editing time and opening up new opportunities in audio creation by allowing them to focus on creativity. The current product lineup includes tools that help design, automate and perform complex sound effects in seconds. Examples include Sci-Fi sound effects, wooshes & transitions, vehicle sounds, real & Sci-Fi weapons, SFX (animals, fruit & veg, electronic sounds, leather, etc.), and vocal sound effects (Creature vocalisation, dialogue processing, vocal processing). Krotos software has become industry-standard in film post-production and game audio, with credits on an ever-expanding list of major Hollywood and AAA game titles including Stranger Things, Game of Thrones, The Lion King, Avengers, Captain Marvel, Star Trek, and many more. 

Krotos targets the video and audio editing software market which is expected to reach $6B in size by 2024. Company already has 5 product lines and around 100 add-ons that are being used by thousands of audio professionals and music producers in 65 countries. The existing round of funding will go to reinforce the team, accelerate commercialization and ensure the successful deployment of new pilots with partners and clients.
