Metavallon VC is pleased to announce its Brain Gain Fund investment in Imagenomix Corp, participating in the company’s $3.2 million Seed financing round led by Modi Ventures, alongside Verge HealthTech Fund and the NYU Innovation Venture Fund.
Imagenomix is an AI-powered computational pathology company transforming cancer diagnostics by decoding molecular genotypes directly from standard H&E pathology slides. By eliminating the need for additional tissue samples and significantly reducing diagnostic turnaround times, the company is helping clinicians access critical molecular insights faster and more efficiently.
Founded by Travis Wold, Dr. Matija Snuderl, Dr. Aristotelis Tsirigos, and Dr. Daniel Orringer, Imagenomix was spun out of New York University and combines cutting-edge expertise in artificial intelligence, genomics, and pathology to address one of precision oncology’s most significant challenges: ensuring patients have timely access to the molecular information needed for treatment decisions and clinical trial enrollment.
For Metavallon VC, Imagenomix represents the type of company the Brain Gain Fund was created to support – world-class innovation with Greek talent at its core. Co-founder Dr. Aristotelis Tsirigos, Director of Applied Bioinformatics Laboratories at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, exemplifies the global Greek scientific community driving breakthrough innovation.
We back teams combining strong technical depth with a clear focus on solving meaningful problems. Imagenomix stood out for both the rigor of its AI-powered computational pathology platform and the team’s commitment to turning frontier research into real clinical impact,” said Demetris Iacovides, Partner of the Brain Gain Fund
The funding will support the continued development and deployment of Imagenomix’s diagnostic platform, expansion of commercial partnerships, and acceleration of clinical applications across oncology.
“Our mission is to ensure that a patient’s monetary status doesn’t determine their access to life-saving molecular insights. We are making molecular truth accessible to any clinician, anywhere,” said Travis Wold, Co-founder and CEO of Imagenomix
We are proud to support the Imagenomix team as they advance precision oncology and bring faster, more accessible molecular diagnostics to patients worldwide.
