Associate – Metavallon VC

Investment Manager – Metavallon VC


ASSOCIATE
Location: Athens, Greece

Main Role

The Associate will assist the Fund’s General Partners in analyzing and evaluating investment targets, by researching sector trends, key characteristics and differentiating factors to support decision making. The Associate is also expected to assist in portfolio monitoring and support ongoing financial and operational tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial and operational tasks of the VC, including investor reporting and pipeline management
  • Follow, analyse and evaluate target technologies, trends and future developments internationally
  • Research and evaluate target sectors, including segmentation, market sizing a.o.
  • Monitor portfolio companies’ performance, KPIs, etc.; collecting & synthesizing relevant data, and producing regular updates
  • Develop growth toolset for portfolio companies to support their ongoing development
  • Produce regular digests for the Partners; follow the local and international startup scene and prepare analysis on how it is evolving

Essential Requirements

  • BSc in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or equivalent discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in investments, consulting, banking, research or technology
  • Tech-savvy, with either hands-on experience in, or good understanding of, cutting-edge technology; demonstrated interest & initiative in keeping abreast of tech developments
  • Experience in multicultural, multidisciplinary environments
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills in English and Greek
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and strong personal motivation

Desirable Qualifications

  • Understanding of the economic fundamentals and mechanisms of Venture Capital
  • Operational experience in a startup environment
  • Masters degree or MBA an asset
  • Additional languages (business level) a plus

INVESTMENT MANAGER Location: Athens, Greece

INVESTMENT MANAGER
Location: Athens, Greece

Main Role

The Investment Manager will assist the Fund’s General Partners in analyzing and evaluating investment targets, by researching sector trends, key characteristics and differentiating factors to support decision making. The Investment Manager is also expected to assist in regular company portfolio monitoring and support ongoing tasks like communicating and reporting to the Fund’s institutional and private investors.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall pipeline and deal sourcing, including proactive search for investment targets and liaising with dealflow sources
  • Evaluate investment targets based on technology and market criteria, preparing both intermediate appraisals and investment memos for the Investment Committee
  • Assist in transaction execution, including liaising with coinvestors and legal and financial professionals
  • Monitor target sectors and technologies, trends, and future developments internationally
  • Support portfolio companies in the design and execution of growth strategies, mainly in relation to technology commercialization, recruiting, structuring their teams and operations, reporting and investor updates, as well as further fundraising
  • Maintain and expand Metavallon’s international investor network
  • Communicate with Metavallon stakeholders and support Partners in maintaining investor relations

Essential Requirements

  • BSc in Engineering, Computer Science or other equivalent discipline; ideally, an ICT background combined with finance/economics understanding
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in investment, consulting, banking, advisory, research or technology
  • Tech-savvy, with either hands-on experience in, or good understanding of, cutting-edge technology; demonstrated interest & initiative in keeping abreast of tech developments
  • Experience in managerial reporting for business decision and information purposes, including structuring, automating and improving reports
  • Experience in multicultural, multidisciplinary environments
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills in English and Greek
  • Ability to develop and excel in a fast-paced environment and strong personal motivation
